Our Mission

The St. George Civic Association is a volunteer neighborhood group that provides a collective voice to issues that affect our community. By working with local officials and elected representatives, we advocate for managed growth, public safety, better transportation (especially pedestrian safety and the ferry services), cared-for public spaces, and increased recreational, cultural, and retail amenities in our neighborhood.  We strive to protect and improve the quality of life in St. George.

Home of the Staten Island Ferry and the historic St. George Theatre, with views of Manhattan across the harbor, the St. George neighborhood is an active, growing community on the north shore of Staten Island.

Join Us!

What have we accomplished so far?

  • Organization has doubled in size

  • Became an official non-profit 501c (3) organization which gives us more opportunities for funding

  • Improved pedestrian safety

  • Planted bulbs, perennial plants and flowers in tree beds as well as other beautification initiatives

  • Regularly bring issues to government agencies to help improve the quality of life in our neighborhood

How do we get the work done?  And would you like to see more improvements?

We have a number of very active committees that volunteer their time to make all this great work happen and you can be a part of that. You can make a difference too!

The results are truly rewarding, so don’t hesitate. Come join us today!!!
